When she has the baby, go help out for long weekends over the first few years. She’ll love the help and company, you will learn a ton, and both of you will remember these days fondly in the future. Unsolicited advice, I know. But it is gold advice. Some of my best. The swaddling doc is very right. New parents are often complete baby novices until theirs arrives, and a lack of knowledge begets many crisis of confidence.
