See my reply to Justin Cox 🍩 on stranger numbers. I think it is how Medium presents pieces. When I click on the M at the top left, the recommened for you stories rarely have people I follow and usually only about 1 in 10 that I care to read. The daily email digest is much better but I still have to hunt for some of my faves.
