Or simple obedience. Or, for this man who money, a good nature, and many other advantages, keeping the law didn’t cost him anything. Keeping the Commandments risked nothing for him. It was easy. So was it really obedience, or just convenient. So, Jesus gave him a challenge that was inconvenient. And so the man learned, or so we hope.
