I know this, all of it, up to and including the swimming, although in the US the tap meant you were about to get passed, so scooch to the right and hug the rope while the swimmer overtook you.

In other things, I’ve found women were one or the other, and the rarer type were the true leaders who built you up and challenged your abilities. And you stick with them — even when you don’t. So my former boss, one of the rare women leaders, moved up to General Counsel of the big company after I left legal practice upon having children. Not long ago she retired and has moved into foundation work and I have been back in professional circles. So we are working together again, in a completely different way. But we work well together and know each other’s strengths. You stay with the good ones.
