I cannot speak for the cartoonist, but I can speak for me. As a Christian (Baptist to wilderness to Anglican) it is a responsibility to call out the church (little c) on false doctrine, the Prosperity Gospel, its roots and its ripple effects. In many ways Trump and Trumpism have become false idols and I will not tiptoe around that fact. I see and hear far too much reflexive defense or belief concerning Trump despite a large and growing collection of facts. And some if it is not just “Dems did it first” — which while true is not justification — but belief that only he can make things right. I not only disagree but also find the faith placed in him disturbing.
