I cannot speak directly for the other conservatives who have stayed on Medium, but I will guess that the potential for two way dialogue is a draw. More specifically, the ability to write in a way — from title to tone — that invites dialogue is a compelling feature. In publishing out there, the pressure to be partisan, to make a piece snarkier, or to find it has run with an off-putting title that inspires hate clicks not deep reads is very discouraging. We hoped Medium would be enough of an audience boost to avoid the preaching to the choir problem.
